A warm welcome to you all.  We are really looking forward to welcoming your child and yourselves to Buttsbury Infant School. We will endeavour to provide the best possible education for your child in a safe, happy and nurturing environment. Latest Information - Primary School places for September 2024

 

Applications for a primary (reception) school place starting September 2024 can be made between 6 November 2023 and 15 January 2024. Prospective parent tours are usually held in October, these are adult only tours to view the school during the school day. Please contact the school office in September to reserve a place.

The waiting list is maintained by the Local Authority until the end of August each year, when the school will take over responsibility. If you wish to remain on the waiting list please contact the school on a regular basis (at the end of each half term).

How do I apply?

Applications are all done online please see above for the link. The applications open in November each year and close on 15th January.

 

How many children do you admit each year?

Buttsbury Infant School is a four form entry school and our intake is 120 children each year.

 

Am I guaranteed a space if I live in catchment?

Whilst the school can never guarantee spaces, we have admitted from the lowest category of our admissions policy (category 6 - out of catchment) for the past few years. We always recommend that you put your catchment school as one of your choices.

 

What are the start and finish times?

The school day currently starts at 8:50am (doors open at 8:40) and ends at 3:05pm.

 

Does the school have any breakfast or after school clubs?

Buttsbury Infant School does not currently host before or after school childcare, however we are pleased to announce that from January 2024 The Treehouse Club will be hosting one based at the Infant School. 

 

When will my child be starting school?

We will be staggering the start dates for different groups. Further information will be provided in July.

 

How are classes determined?

We like to make the transition into school as smooth as possible for our new children. Feedback provided from your child's previous setting will contribute towards class decisions.
