Welcome to the Buttsbury Infants Parents Association (BISPA)
What does the Parents Association do?
The PA is a registered charity and is separate to the school. It’s run by volunteers and raises funds by hosting events throughout the year with the voluntary help of parents, carers, pupils and their families. Events include the Black-Tie Ball, Summer and Xmas Fayres; Mothers Day & Fathers Day Boutique; Film Nights; Quiz Nights and more. The success of each event relies heavily on the volunteer support which we look to the families to assist with. All the funds raised directly impact our children.
Fundraising for our children’s benefit
We focus on providing the niceties; the extras that fall outside of the main school curriculum, things to enhance their environment and learning such as Christmas parties, animal farm visit, theatre workshops, author visits, first aid training for kids and MUCH MORE!…. The most recent purchase was the library bus which provides 2 extra break out areas for the children to read, learn, create and watch wildlife. Anyone within the school community can put forward suggestions for where funds could be used (a wish list). Those funds historically have been spent on IT equipment, the play area and outdoor seating. We’ve purchased interactive white boards and furniture for every classroom, sports equipment, musical instruments, art supplies, a garden planting area – the list is extensive.
Some of the ways you can help
Fund-Matching or £4£ scheme (many companies support these schemes). Ask your employer to see if they are – Funds are gifted to the school – it really is as easy as that
Amazon Smile – each time you shop on Amazon, as the preferred beneficiary our school can receive a percentage of your spend.
Become a Class Rep – these help tremendously in keeping open communications between the parents of each and every class to the PA team.
Manage the PR - outdoor Notice Boards, flyers, FB page posts, etc
Manage a sub-group to run a specific event/task including Tea Towels; Christmas Cards; Grotto; Face Painting.
Help at the actual events. This might be in the form of:
Baking cakes; Manning a stall; Cooking up a BBQ; Face painting and Glitter tattooing; Making or creating at home; Donating prizes; Childminding for other parent helpers;
Attending the events; Spreading the word about our events to family and fiends; Helping set up and take down at events; Printing/design of flyers; DIY-ers to assist with prop making for Grotto/stalls etc; the list is endless and it’s all fun!
